People-to-People
The Prime Minister has committed to a renewed relationship with Indigenous Peoples, one based on the recognition of rights, respect, co-operation, and partnership. To truly renew our nation-to-nation and people-to-people ties it is clear that we all need to be involved. We need to see people-to-people innovations, partnerships, and education in our schools, in our communities, and in our work places. We need to come together and create a united vision for our country that embraces the history, knowledge, culture, and dreams of all our people so that we can move forward hand-in-hand as brothers and sisters. Let's find ways to make change felt in our communities while amplifying our efforts from coast to coast to coast.
SHARED VALUE
The prevailing mindset is “what’s good for business is good for society”, and this belief has driven the actions of policymakers, legislators, and society more broadly. But this has also pit business against society as they try to balance the trade-offs between profitability and shareholder value and social and environmental good. How do we shift the mindset to “what’s good for society is good for business”, so that we’re focusing instead on creating shared value? Space vision
Space provides a unique perspective from which to examine global issues, observe the fragility of our planet, and contemplate the future of the human race. From earth's orbit we are reminded that the blueness of our oceans remains largely unexplored, that our landmasses have no borders separating our people, and that life at the micro-level is hard to see when you zoom out. In the grandness of the universe we have an enormous responsibility to ensure the longevity and health of our planet. Advancements in space exploration open new avenues interplanetary human habitats. At the same time, using space vision increasingly illustrates that we are one people, sharing one planet and that prosperity can only be achieved through diverse and meaningful partnerships. JAMMIN'
Disruptive innovation happens when we collide across sectors, perspectives, people, and ideas in new and unexpected ways. So what if we could align our global human capital in a way that channels creative solutions to the world’s biggest and emerging challenges (e.g. conflict, cancer, green energy)? “Jammin’” is pitched to be the world’s next Facebook. An entirely re-imaged engagement and challenge platform strongly biased towards real-time, disruptive, and solutions-focused global action. A by-product will be a new way to engage, empower and educate students of all ages in real world problem solving. Our aim is to help people (young and old) move off auto-pilot towards being able to easily target their passion, expertise and free-time for the global public good.
AWESOME TUBE
At Awesome Eh we know that in today's world, video is increasingly the preferred medium. To help communicate the vision and ideas of our Associates, we are looking to advance "Awesome Tube" a YouTube Channel and Podcast platform devoted to Awesome. Whether it is mini documentaries, interviews, or features...we are looking for Associates to develop video content to share more Awesome with the world. Have some suggestions or some content? Human Resources Innovation
Increasingly education is no longer the benchmark in developing awesome teams. With an explosion in graduate degrees, new benchmarks and methodologies are needed to ensure we have the right people in the right places to achieve results. Ultimately it comes down to passion and fit. But how do you measure the intangibles of passion and fit in a way that stand up to our desire for rigor in selection processes? We can see from leading innovative companies that new practices are emerging. We are eager to engage in a cross-sector dialogue to determine how we can optimize these practices in Canada. From there we aim to unlock the limitless potential of our greatest asset - our human capital - to make Canada a global powerhouse in the new creative innovation economy.
GLOBAL GOVERNANCE CHALLENGE
The Global Challenges Foundation recently launched its 2017 Challenge "A New Shape: Remodelling Global Cooperation" aiming to re-envision global governance for the 21st century. With a number of our Associates coming with international and multilateral expertise, they are actively working to advance a proposal on behalf of Awesome Eh. In the process they are exploring the global governance ecosystem trying to determine if tweaks alone will be enough to meet the ambition of tomorrow or if all new visioning is required.
Vibrant Spaces
We all admire the beautiful work spaces that incorporate colour, design, functionality and play as a way to inspire creativity and while supporting productivity - just think Google campuses. Not only are vibrant spaces good for the bottom line, they are good for the human spirit. Awesome Eh believes that vibrant spaces are needed to spark the collective imagination of society as well as the creativity, potential, and productivity of our people. Through proactive outreach, exhibitions, and videography, Awesome Eh is advancing a movement to increase vibrant spaces everywhere people (young and old) work, study and play.
